This is the logo of The Canada Tree Project, a graphic representation of Canada's history. The feather represents the original inhabitants, the people of the ‘First Nations'. The Fleur de Lis depicts the French, the first Europeans to call Canada “home”. The Union Jack portrays the population that came to Canada from the British Isles and American Colonies in the years following the American Revolution. All are encompassed within the Maple Leaf , with its points expanding in all directions, symbolizing the many cultures that have settled here since, laying down their roots in this land, growing The Canada Tree
The purpose of the Canada Tree Project is to promote an interest in Canada's history that teachers can build on by performing an overview of our story in a compact and entertaining way. Currently, two presentations are offered – Sutler Cyrus' Concise Cartoon Historie of Canada , and The War of 1812 .
A third presentation, dealing with Pioneer Life and the Industrial Revolution is in the works.
